Recommended Plant List for the front, side and back yard

The following plants are recommended but not exclusive for use in common project landscape improvements in Eagle Crest Ranch. Those designated with (N) are native, indigenous plants, likewise, those designated with (T), for transitional area, may be used anywhere on the property. Plants designated with (P) are restricted to rear privacy areas. You may submit a Tree/plant/Shrub that is not mentioned on this list for approval.

All proposed landscape plans must be submitted to the Architectural Review Committee for review and approval, prior to implementation. (see Section 2.2, Landscaping)
All approved trees shall be maintained to 25 feet in the rear yard from the foundation of the house and 15 feet in the front or side yards.

Dwarf varieties of Citrus, Pine, Cypress, Juniper and Cedar trees whose mature growth height may reasonably be expected to be maintained at less than 15 feet, may be installed within privacy walled yard areas.

Specific plants/grasses are prohibited because of their allergy producing characteristics, or susceptibility to disease, or considered invasive plants of concern by Pinal County. No Plants/Trees/ Shrubs to be prohibited based on “Aesthetic” reasons but may only be allowed in the backyard behind privacy walls.

  • Mexican Palo Verde (disease) Mulberry (law)
  • Desert Broom (weed)
  • Russian Thistle (Weed) Olive (law)
  • Fountain grass (Pennisetum setaceum) and pampas grass (Cortaderia Lselloana) will be prohibited as a defined weed with the potential to spread through the development.
  • Common Bermuda grass will be prohibited as a defined weed and for its profuse production of allergy-producing pollen.
  • All Citrus, Palms, Pines, Cypress, Juniper, and Cedar trees will be prohibited in front yards.
